Something is wrong with my ram

A couple months back i decided to put some more ram in my computer. My computer had 1gb of DDR2 4200 ram. I put in 2gb of DDR2 5300 with that 1gb still in there. Now I removed that 1gb and thought it would go faster but cpu-z says its running at 533 not at 677. Can someone tell me how to fix this?
(Dell Dimension 8400)

DDR2 533 does runs at 266/533. To run at 333/667 you need DDR2 667. DDR2 533 and PC2 4200 is the same thing. Do you mean the new memory is PC2 5300/DDR2 667

Dont know much about a Dells bios. Look in the bios and see if you can manually set it to 333/667 and to what ever the default voltage on the new memory is suppost to be.
