Song editting software

Is there any software that I can get to edit parts of songs? Basically I want to bring some music into work with me but the songs have to be friendly (no swearing). Is there anything I can get to edit a few parts of songs?

Give Audacity a try. You will need to get an additional plugin to save files as MP3s, so you might just want to save it as a Wav, Ogg Vorbis, or Flac file.

Vorbis is an open alternative to MP3.
Flac is a lossless audio codec, meaning that the sound is not compressed (MP3s/Oggs are "lossy", or compressed). Uncompressed audio generally has a much higher quality than compressed audio.

They aren't as widely supported as MP3, but both usually have a higher quality.
