Well, some of you may have seen a thread several weeks ago about a build I was planning for my son's Christmas present.
Parts List:
Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01 case
GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 Motherboard
AMD Radeon Performance Series 8GB Ram
AMD FX-6300 6-Core
CORSAIR Hydro Series H75 Cooler
CORSAIR CX series CX600
GIGABYTE R9 270X OC
Western Digital WD Black HD
I looked at the instruction for anything about 2 minutes, that was to get the motherboard headers correct. I haven't built a rig in years and it was a breeze. Kinda like riding a bike I guess, I was expecting some difficulty for some strange reason.
Fired right up and posted when I hit the switch. Loaded Windows 7 and installed all the drivers. Since I am 34 going on 8 I figured I'd see what she was made of immediately. I started a CPU burn and GPU before going to work, 12 hours later still running when I got back home. Seems pretty stable so far. Nothing was on fire
I did the AMD CPU test, made it to 4.3 MHz, I clicked stop as soon as it hit 4.4 MHz.
The H70 seems to be doing well, it would only fit one way in the rear fan spot in the top of the case. Mounting it you cannot have fans inside, the hit the motherboard. I had to mount a single fan on the outside...still working on that issue.
At stock clocks running Unigine Valley at max settings like the benchmark thread on here it pulled just over 1100. I didn't try any overclocking.
Idle temps are 19c in the BIOS and Core Temp had me at 21c. Load temp in Core Temp peaked at 36c. I don't know how accurate those are but that what it said.
Son is more than happy with it, he is thrilled!
