Sony PCG-6P2M Battery problem

Hi!

I have a Sony PCG-6P2M and the battery has stopped working. It works via the power supply but not battery. I bought a new battery from Sony and exactly the same problem. I called Sony they said its £200 to look at it!!!

The battery was intermittent on and off and would charge then not etc

Can anyone help please?

I removed all the base screws but the areas around the side vents and DVD and VGA wont come away room the body any advice please?

There's probably a bad connection to the battery pins somewhere in the motherboard. Do you still have the same power adapter, or did you replace it recently? Some power adapters that are listed for certain computers will only power the computer while it's plugged in, but won't charge the battery.
 
Hey!

It happened sort of intermitantly Windows wouldnt see battery then would then charged it then wouldnt and now won't charge it at all but appears to see the battery. I have tried both a new battery and power supply.

The power supply is both the original and a new one aswell :S
