which handheld do you think is better? the psp or the ds? whatever you vote post why :P personally i think the ds is better cause of games, its innovative and its not all crappy console ports :)

I'd definitely go with the DS purely because Nintendo have some of my favourite all time games (Mario Kart, Zelda, Metroid etc). They seem pretty solid too in the sense that if you accidentally drop them, knock them about they still continue working. Plus they're a lot more portable, as from what I remember a PSP to be like, they're quite large in comparison. I've never really shown much interest in Playstation (played on a few on odd occasions but I'd never purchase any of their consoles) so my opinion will always be a tad biased in such questions.

Breaks.

I would go with the DS for sure. I hate my PSP, I use it as a paper weight. And I have read many articles about the increasing popularity of the DS and the lowering popularity of the PSP. Sony has been making numerous attempts to boost sales of the PSP.

I bought a PSP a while ago when I was looking at either a DS or PSP. I went that way because I liked the selection of games a little better on that one than on the DS. While Mario Kart and others are a lot of fun, I can play that on other Nintendo systems. There are some games that you can only get on the PSP that I really enjoy. Plus I like the fact that you can load photos, videos and music on the PSP rather easily.

PSP games are awesome, being that they are pretty much all new stuff to play (I grew up on Nintendo, kinda got sick of all the new rehashes).

I have both and my favorite is the PSP because of all the different things it can do. The DS touchscreen novelty wears off after a while. The one thing I want to try with the DS is the new touchscreen pokemon :D

And also the games are all lower-res PS2 ports and theyre nothing groundbreaking or particularly new, and i guess the main thing i dont like is the fact that it only has one control nub :P

Isn't that exactly what most DS games are? Except even lower res and some lame touchscreen elements added which are hardly used in the games anyway(minus a few good games). At least the PSP can somewhat keep up to the PS2, while the DS can hardly do N64-like graphics(minus the texture filtering as well).

Anyway, not hating on Nintendo or anything, I've had every system they've released to date exluding the Wii (and the DS, obviously), which I plan to get in the future. I just don't like playing games with touchscreens, which I found out playing games on my PDA. Awkward to hold, awkward to use, and not a whole lot of fun, despite how it looks on paper.

Now the Wii on the other hand, thats just genius. I'm glad Nintendo made up for the DS in some way. :)
