what do you guys think about the Sony Vaio FE550G laptop.....for gaming (cs:source, call of duty 2, etc) .....programming using visual studion 2005...etc.....

For games- sorry to say- it would suck. It only has integrated video, so you can play pinball at max settings but not much else. For the programming, i have no idea what you are doing with that, but the Core Duo is a good CPU and you will do well in that area.

if you play power hungry games like that.. why not just get a pc?

laptops aren't really designed for gaming and the ones that are... well, they are quite heavy and expensive. The amount u pay for a good gaming laptop can be well spent on a better pc.

but to answer your question, for programming and everything else .. it should be sufficient. games like COD? maybe..

i can't carry a pc every where i go.....i do alot of traveling at the same time during my spare time i like to play games like cs: source , etc.......i have beeen loooking at the abs mayham not sure which one to get ...what are you opinons .....is it worth the money to get the higher end ???.....

I have a very light Sony SZ Core Duo, 512MB of RAM, and a 7400go and it performs quite nicely. I am not sure how much it was, but I dont belevie it was too much.
