I decided to build a co
mputer about a month a go and i have been searching the web for parts. I have finally finished...Here is what i have:

Total(With Tax~S&H~MIR): $955.38

Does that look like a good gaming computer?
And when i say gaming this is what i mean:
  1. CounterStrike at a really really good FPS
  2. CounterStrike: Source at a so-so FPS
  3. Day Of Defeat:Source at a so-so FPS
  4. BF2 at a Good FPS

it'll play a bunch of games on high,i get source at a good res with near maxed graphics on my lower end computer with an x800xl and a single core cpu,70FPS or so is the average.

overkill meaning more than needed for the games you play

by the way thats 979 w/o tax and shipping and w/o an OS

its gonna come to like 1100-1200 total, just to let you know for just those parts you posted, you added wrong

hahaha. thanx! i added it up once and i thought it looked really cheap but i was to lazy to add it up again. i have the os to.:)

sweet, so its like 1000 total and you need to put a monitor in there for under 1000?

haha..the total is exactly $1,000 with tax, shipping and MIR.
hmmmm...forget about the monitor. but is there any way i can bring the price of just my comp to around $900?

May I also suggest that you upgrade your ram to this pair?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145034

It has tighter timings.

Well my mobo's voltage for ram is 1.8v and ive heard of changing the voltage in the bios. but when i was reading about changing the voltage it said you need at least one stick of ram that has the mobo voltage. in my case it would be 1.8v. Is there any way to change the voltage with out buying a separate stick?? because i dont want to have to spend $30 on a stick that i will one use once...

and what if my mobo doesn't support the timing>? never read about that before.

here is some excellent ( i can say that because i have it) RAM thats great and runs at 1.8v. its fast and OCable

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231098

and the timings are supported by all mobos

thank you.
i was looking at your sig and your system looks alot like how mines going to look like. i was just wondering if you can play like bf2 or cs at a good fps? I am going cal-im this year so i really need my comp to be good for Counter strike.

BF 2142 maxed out to the max at great FPS. (how can i check, anyone know?)

it looks like a PS4

i have also played FSX at medium-high to high settings and it looks great

CSS no problem at all in any way. i also OCed my computer to 2.5 on stock everything but havent played the games yet to see the difference.

Sweet thanx alot.:D

I would actually rather pay the extra $10 and get corsair over gskill. the only problem i have is there any way to change the mobo ram voltage with out any ram in the mobo? like will the mobo even get to the bios or will it just do nothing because theres no ram.
