Sound card input problem

I've got a high defenition Sigmatel sound card on my Dell laptop, and when I plug something in the input, I can't hear it on my spkrs or headset, although I can record ok.

And I assume you want to hear it on your speakers? Be sure the input you're using is un-muted in the volume properties. If it's not displayed right off, go to options, properties, and select it from the list.

Hi, I checked that, and there's nothing to do because the mute button under my input tracks are frozen. I can't touch them.
