Hey,

I am looking at building a new rig and was wondering for the moment if using the mobo's sound card (asus p6t) was going to hinder performance in anyway?

Let me know guys, thanks -- I appreciate it

Not really, maybe a few fps on sound intensive games. Mostly sound cards will make games sound better as some cards supports EAX 5 and such.

Sound cards are generally for audiphiles... although, I hear that the Asus Xonar D1 puts onboard audio to shame. I know my X-Fi Xtreme Audio offers some a general sound improvement, and the Crystallizer, EAX and Virtual 3D affects make it sound quite a lot better than onboard.

Nice,

Thank you for the advice. I looked into it and I am going to have limited PCI slots if i eventually do crossfire. Need a wireless card over a sound card anyway.

Hopefully it'll all sound good!
