Sound Device Missing, HELP!!

I have a MDG computer that was all full of spyware, viruses. You name it, I had it. I dont have the manufacture cd's as I have lost them. After reformating it with XP home, I am missing the PCI driver and cant find it. The sound/audio drivers were all there. I tried to play a MP3 file with windows media and it says that I am missing a sound device. I loaded the sound control under All Program---->accesories----Entertainment---->volume control and it also say sound device missing. I tried to search all night and I cant find any info on this. Please help thanks in advance
