Sound from Video

I have many .avi's and .mpg's that i would like to rip the audio tracks off of and convert them into .mp3s. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this, or any other way to get the sound to be burnable onto an audio cd?
 
don't buy anything, if u have movie maker u can converte the video to wma (audio).
movie make comes with windows XP, if u don't have windows XP u can download it for free from www.microsoft.com
