ok i have a few AVI files that im trying to convert to DVD, when they have been converted the sound is out of sync with the footage. whats going on? ive tried various converters all with pretty much the same results. ive used dvd santa to adjust the audio but is too much of a pain to get it right. the sound is in sync b4 converting.......

does anyone know the reason why this happens?

whats the best way to convert without this happenin?

Ahahaha, I fell out of my chair from that. On a more serious note, we dont talk about EITHER of those here.

As for your problem, I thought AVI files had there AUDIO and VIDEO synced withing the file, and they couldnt be seperated. Have you tryed playing the DVD on different computers/DVD players? If your using windows media player, there is a function to where you can slow down the video or speed it up to match the sound. I cant seem to remember how though.

yeah tried various players and still out of sync. and no it aint porn of anything illegally downloaded. your right in the fact thaT the audio and video is within the 1 file as such, but after converting they r out. is there any programs out there that can adjust the audio tining? thx s for reply

What programs have you used to burn the DVD's. I cant think of any free ones. But NERO has never failed me, and I beleive it has a free trial. What file type is the AVI after burning?

Lack of sync can be due to a whole bunch of things. If the audio is VBR you could try re-encoding to CBR. If you are concerned with loss of quality you could bump up the quality of the CBR - you're going to throw it away after the dvd is done. Lots of progs can do that. For avi I would use one of the VirtualDub family.
