sound problem on new laptop

Hi, I recently bought a new acer aspire 6530G and all is fine apart from the sound, Im getting a crackling noise intermittently when watching films. Ive had it happening through the speakers and also headphones.
The graphics card is a realtek high def audio with all drivers up to date and im running on vista home. Any help appreciated.

I just though I'd check here first incase its a quick software fix rather than send it back and have to wait for a replacement.

Try updating your video and sound drivers first, as Acer will have you do that anyway.
