Soz if this is in the wrong thing

When i turn on my pc it starts up and when windows (vista) opens it just turns off, as if the power cordhas been pulled out.
Does anyone no what causes this and what i can do to fix it?

is this a desktop or a laptop,
it sounds like a heat issue.

If its a desktop, make sure that there is proper cooling and ventialtion, enough silicon grease between the cpu and the fan

either that or your PSU is going bad.
