Sparking mobo

Hey all. So, I finally got my parts from Newegg yesterday (Monday), I spent a few hours building it (my first one, btw) i plug it in, press the switch, and............the mobo sparks and the case fans stop. The spark was around the JUSB ports, where you plug in the USB ports from the front case. I don't know what the problem is...I'm going to try a few things, like shorting the power switch to see if that's the problem, but I doubt that'll work. Is it just a bad mobo from Newegg? If you guys could help, that'd be really great.

The mobo is the one in my sig.

Is front USB hooked up (right). You are already getting power to board , do not short power switch until you find out whay you're frying.

Stand offs installed?? Double check everything before you power up!! (Unplug from wall 1st).

Yes, the front panel USB ports are connected to the mobo right. It's one of the ports that aren't in use that's sparking. I'm not even sure that's where it's coming from, just that general area. I of course double checked everything...and again, and again. I've already shorted the switch with a screwdriver, so I know the power button on the case works (no surprise there).

Anyway, I just read the reply from MSI tech support, and they told me to RMA it. I knew something in my new build wouldn't work....i was just hoping it was something minor, like the FDD drive. Not the mobo :(. Oh well.

Thanks for your help.
