What abut buying Home Theater speakers, would I need a certain adapter to connect them to a computer?

For home theater computers you'll need to connect the computer to the receiver or amps. The best way of doing this is running an optical line between the two. You'll need a soundcard that supports optical out (there are many out there). After that it's pretty standard, the receiver will decode the signal and voila, your computer (and along with w/e other devices you hook up to it) is playing through the home theater speakers.
