Speaker set not working right

Hey guys, I'm having trouble with my Logitech z-640 speaker set. Right now the only speakers working are the mid and right (faintly). Ive messed with all the dials on the mid and not much changes. Theres a tiny bit of noise coming from the rear left but I cant make it louder. I have a P5Q pro mobo and im using the onboard soundcard. Is my speaker set going or do I need a sound card to mess with the volumes? My left speaker used to work but it doesnt anymore, ive switched them all around and all the speakers work. Whats the deal? New speaker set time?

Not a pro myself, but a couple steps you could take would be to hook your speakers to another computer if you can for comparison, if they work there, that can eliminate your speakers being faulty. And, you could try reinstalling the drivers for your motherboard/audio.
