Speakers just beeb when connected!

I have an asus xonar ds soundcard and 5.1 alba surround sound, and when I plug the speakers in to the 5.1 surround sound jack, the speakers give out a large beep which doesn't stop until I turn it off?

I've used the jack before so i know it works and the surround sound works when plugged in to my phone?

If anyone has any solutions I'd really appreciate it thank you

Try reinstall the drivers, changing the jacks in the driver etc. I have issues with my asus drivers sometimes, the outputs just screech until rebooted.
