If a Photographer needed a complete brand new system, he will be doing image manipulation, using adobe phtotshop stuff like that. He has a budget of 1000 pounds.

Would it be a Fast CPU and lots of RAM

or

a good Graphics card, and less of the above?

I think for graphics designing a faster CPU and more RAM would be best.

Why does the photographer refer to himself in the third person?

Anyway...if you're going to be doing lot's of rendering, etc, and using photoshop alot, you definitely want a good CPU and a decent amount of RAM...but you also don't want to skimp on the GPU...

It's just about finding the balance really, but at the moment if you or rarther he D) is going to be doing photo editing I, as many others would, recommend getting a Core 2 Duo.

Not even with that Graphics Card and a 20inc Monitor, thats what im worried about at the moment.

Because some of the guys i work with say that a Good Graphics Card is required?

For Video Editing yeah maybe but when working with images, dont think so.

No you don't need a high end gpu for photo editing.
