I'd check out the max RAM specs and see how much more you can add. You can also try getting a faster HD, but after all the upgrades, you could've just bought a newer and more up to date laptop.

I believe it came in a 1Ghz version, but like Helmie said, I think 512mb is it's max also. I've checked the Kingston memory configurator and it tells me the same.
