would reinstalling osx tiger speed up my mac? i just got it but its really slow, especialy surfing the internet, most especialy flash sites. its a G4, with a 800mHz processor, 768megs of ram.

You say you just got it?
Is it new?
If not, and you bought it off someone who didn't reinstall it before you then if it is anything like windows PC's, then it shoudl speed it up, if you have no personnal files on there oar anything then there is nothing to lose, so go for it

throwing it out a high window will make it go really fast...

Well, yes. It would. But I'm not very knowledgeable (sp) for installing Mac *grit teeth* but it really would only speed you up if you were able to permanently delete those files. Deleting a file only tells the drive that it can be overwritten. There are some programs that can permanently delete a file. Wipe your drive with that, and reinstall. Now you'll speed up.
Or, you can get a Windows. :D
