speeding up your comp manually

hello im new to all ths compuer tech, the thing is does anyone know some things i could change on my PC that would make it run faster, like i saw this one video on gooel where a guy speeds up his start menu just by typing something into the "run" dialog box, so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know thanks in advance

That video you saw on google probably involves some tweaking. If you are not familiar with it yet, it's best to ont go and try tweaking your pc for now.

As far as speeding up your pc, there are some tools that comes with Windows that can help you. They are:
Disk Defragmenter
Disk Cleanup

They can be found by pointing to your START menu. From there..
START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS

This will help clean and organize your pc a bit if you never done it before. There are also other tools also, but see if that'll help and post back if you would like to try a little tweaking and modifying.
