I am interested in speeding up my system (in the sig) and I wondered if anyone knew of anything I could do to optimize the performance. I am running Ubuntu 7.04 on it. Thanks!

Yeah, I agree with that the other guys are saying, try and get at least a 512MB stick of RAM.
You could download CCleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/
Running that will clean your computer up and make it a bit faster, When I first ran it I removed 2GB of un-needed stuff
Also, just do the usual, Virus Scan and Defrag your HDD.
