spilt pop in power supply!

hey guys, well here is the story me and my friend got into a fight and to get me back he threw a cup of pop into my computer power supply wile it was on. it sparked and looked like a lil fire or somthing for a sec and immidatly shut off. i took it apart and dried everything! everything was wet, to the procceser, the vid card, RAM, motherboard. i just hope it killed the power supply b4 anything els could die! can anyone give me some suggetions on what i should replace? b4 i go buy it heh.

oh and i did take another power supply from an older comp that was the same watt, and i tried to replace it but when i plugged the power cable in, their was another huge spark!, this was of course about 2 days after of letting it dry.
 
Your friend is an ass.

Where did the second spark come from? It's likely that at least the motherboard is dead...maybe more.
 
I would replace the power supply first and then test your system to see if it still works. If it doesn't work after replacing the power supply, likely the motherboard is also gone.
 
heh i wish sending him the bill would be that easy. and i tried to replace the power supply once with a similer one but their was another big blue spark and then nothing. i got a feeling its the motherboard now >< im not very good with buying new parts, i hear if you buy the wrong one it will screw up your computer even more, so do i look for a power supply of the same exact model or just go buy a modern new one?
 
With pop being spilled on it, and pop always has some form of acid in it(especially if it was coke), I would just buy all new parts that got wet and take your friend to small claims court to get the money back. What he did was not right and should be forced to pay for damages.
 
likely late to save it now with sparks i think. maybe a blow out and complete dry and inspection. Not looking good.
A knot is in order for the person that did this.
Are ya sure it was a best friend?

Another note this child was malicious in nature and stupid.
best to avoid him. just being destructive.
