Splitting a file for transferring on cds

If I have a file too big for one cd, is there any way I can split it to put on two cds then rearrange it on the other end? Zipping it doesnt make it small enough. Cheers

i think you can winrar it into a bunch of smaller rar files then put it back together on the other end. try looking into that

winrar will do that, true

But so will winzip, when you select to zip the file there is a option called spanning, and you can select how many file to span it across

But with large files zipping or rarring would take a long time and for example with video files no (or very little) compression is possible, it would be better a software that only splits the file, just like this one: http://jituonline.freeservers.com/splitfile.html (with this there's no need to have the program on the other end, because you can create an exe from the first splitted file for automerging).
