Just wondering is there any way to split a windows media file? so i can burn on 2 discs?
Or if this can even be done.
thanks

what type of file is it? does it need to be split? could you compress it? how big is the file? and what discs do you want to burn to?

Yeah, any type of video editing software should do fine. If it is a MPEG or you can convert it, something like TMPGEnc has a splitter feature. You could then make a pair of VCDs(appox. 70 minutes per disk, and most DVD players will play it)

Ya.see what i want to do is fit a movie onto a DVD-R. or two if need be.
All i can tell you is that the file im trying to compress or split is a Video Clip file..and is ran by media player.

Burning dvds for me is a new experiecne.and its turning out to be a bad one

how big is the avi file? depending on the size if you compress it. it should fit onto a DVD disc. as it has like 4 and bit gig storage. what are you using to burn the DVD with?

Well ive came acorss a number of problems.the only thing i can get to work with dvds is power producer. and the file im trying to burn is only roughly 800mb. Ive tryed putting it on a dual layered cd and it comes out to over 10gigs for some reason. But i used the compress to fit to fix it.

But ive heard alot of good things about nero.
i have nero an nero burning rom.
I just cant seem to get it to work.
I bassicaly need either a program to extract the files i need from the Media file.
or a program that can burn the media files straight to a disk.
