About a month ago I noticed that one of my computers, an older Acer laptop running Windows XP, started playing videos online choppy. Oftentimes the images would stop and start while the audio played continuously. A couple days later I was watching a video when all of a sudden my computer shut down. This has happened multiple times since the first; not only on this laptop but another Acer netbook I have running Windows 7 has started doing it as well.
My home network at times has 6 computers connected to the internet at once. The other 4 computers consist of 3 laptops (all newer than mine) and a PC running Windows Vista. The 3 laptops have been running fine, although sometimes they will lose internet all of a sudden. All software is up to date and I have found no viruses.
Within the past week, I've noticed error messages on the PC and my netbook stating that another computer on my network has the same IP address and I can't connect to the internet sometimes as a result. Is this the reason everything has been acting funny or could it be something else? Thanks.
