Spouse accessing my Instagram DMs

Hello,

I recently found out that my soon-to-be ex-spouse has accessed my Instagram account and gone through all of my messages. I've since blocked her on the site and changed my password, but is there another way for her to access these messages?

She had also put mSpy Lite on my iPhone, but I deleted the app and changed my iCloud password and hope that will be enough. She accessed the phone through knowing my password, not by jailbreaking it.

As someone who is a neanderthal when it comes to tech, any guidance you can give on this grotesque intrusion of privacy will be greatly appreciated.

Grateful,

Just a hobbyist just telling you what I would do!

I mean, definitely go into Instagram settings and click Security > Login Activity. Which then the remaining devices that have your account information should be on there. If you have Facebook, I would do the same just becusse they sometimes can be connected.

If your soon to be ex isnt tech savvy, I think you're fine but if I were you I would just do this in case !

Analyze your phone apps you don't recognize, if you don't recognize them, delete them immediately.

You said you have iCloud so I'm assuming you have an iPhone. When your camera is on, a green light will appear indicating its on and orange will appear if the microphone is on. Close all apps and leave your phone on the home screen and or lock screen. If those lights are on without your accessibility, take caution immediately and delete unfamiliar apps.

Another thing I would do is just add two factor authentication using the Microsoft authenticator. Just for double protection in case anything goes on.

I think you're fine, however if you're still paranoid, try these steps and I hope it helps!

as an Apple user, I can tell you that the most logical answer is that you have an additional Apple product like an iPad that you have on your account, or the soon-to-be ex is part of your family of devices. If it's the latter, you should be able to remove her from the Family Sharing (assuming you were the one setting it up)

If it is the former, and you don't need the device, you will need to remove it from your icloud account under icloud.com/find

Also, make sure you change your passcode as it will be linked also.

Finally, you should talk to your lawyer (assuming you have one) about any potential legal action against her for accessing your account/s without your consent.
