Spraying A laptop Lid

As the title says: Spray painting a laptop lid..

i have a old laptop laying around and i want to experiment with it :-) the lid is made out of a plastic of some sort and i want to spray paint the lid.... Has anyone done this before or know of a D.I.Y located on another website somewhere...

I know it is a silly thing to do, but stating the obvious everything will be taped up and covered so no paint is sprayed in unwanted areas... Thanks for reading guys....

But seriously any tips would be great, i dont want any hate mail :P

Don't do it while it's still together. Remove as much as you can. Block of any areas with masking tape. Spray in thin layers multiple times. Try and remove the tape before it becomes too dry. That's how I usually do it.

Something else, I know they have pants specifically for plastics and what not, but to be honest general spray pants seem to work just fine for me...

awesome mate, so i can just get gloss acyclic paint then?
would it need a coat of clear over the top?
What should i use to clean the surface?
How did you go about sanding the lid?

Cheers.. You mind posting up a few pics of what you have sprayed?
