If I took my Nextel Sim card And put it in a blackberry nextel. Would I have bbm? Or does bbm Come with the blackberry package?

It comes with blackberry. The sim card has nothing to do with it. Nextel push to talk(direct connect) also has nothing to do with BBM. Totally different things.

I know but do you have to pay for a Blackberry service in order to get BBM?

Because a guy at work told me that if I buy a Blackberry Nextel, I can use the nextel and phone features, but none of the internet, email, etc... But I am not sure if that includes texting with BBM.

the messenger requires data services (same as the internet)

Yeah, you would need a data plan to be able to text and use BBM.
