Spyware/Grayware detected by Housecall , need help to remove.HJT log included.

Trend Micro Housecall detected the following infections classifed under grayware/spyware

ADWARE_MEMWATCHER
TSPY_SMALL
TSPY_MOSUCKER

what do I do to remove it?

HouseCall doesn't seem to be able to remove it I think , cause after I click the 'clean now' and the loading , the infections still remained as 3

I take it TrendMicro says the malicious entries are located at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts\127.0.0.1?

This is a known false positive caused by TrendMicro reading entries in your hosts file as malicious. These entries are actually put there by some protection programs (or you can do it yourself), in order to prevent malicious sites from being accessed.

Your logfile appears to be clean, just make sure that TrendMicro indicates that the malware is located at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts\127.0.0.1

ya there was an infection in that directory you mentioned so i deleted the hosts file , but somehow it re-appear in my folder again but trend don't detect it anymore

how do you check if that directory was infected by those 3 nasties?

I don't see the location of those 3 threats after the scan , let me scan again to see if I'm able to know where the threats are..

The default hosts file will always reappear if deleted, it just won't contain all the old information, which is why it won't be detected any more. It's a legitimate part of Windows.

Off-topic : My friend sent me a file through msn , but when I accept it says "starting transfer" but then after awhile a message saying that file cannot be sent because connection is blocked. So if the file was a virus will I be infected since it's not sent but I accepted
