Anyone have a any suggestions for a FREE spyware detection program? I've tried spybot, but it caused some serious problems running on Windows '98 SE.

You can get a 30 day trial of System mechanic..It worked for me.

Go to download,com or tucows to find lots of free stuff, go to the utilities or internet section. I have spybot and adware and have no problems, might be in your settings.

adware is usefull especially if you have the proffessional version. Go to www.lavasoftusa.com. You might need to download the latest definitions if they are not in the installation.
