hi all...
i have been running 'spybot search and destroy' for some time now. yesterday i ran a new programme called xysoft which was a great programme which picked up an extra 100 other things which s&d didnt pick up. however you had to pay $150 to purchase the programme and to remove the spyware/adware. is there any free programmes out there that can help me remove alot of this adware/spyware? my computer is coverd in it.

YEa definitly a scam. They trick you into thinking they are scanning your hdd but instead there moving dummy files around, and presenting you with fake spyware. Dont buy it.
 
ahh o.k.... is that spybot search and destroy a good enough programme then?
im having trouble getting rid of WINFIX . USAVE and NEW.NET. there are probably heaps more but s&d wont pick these ones up.

It is picking up cookie traces and other crap I will post some things you can use for free and use all of them because some will find things others miss!

And of coarse you are already using spybot which is a good program but use these others as well!

Edit: If you think you are already infected post a hijackthis log in the security section and I will look at it for you, you can find out how to post a log in the sticky in that section!
 
thank you for your replys. i ran one of the programms and it worked a treat!

What are these free registry cleaners like? do you really need to have your registry cleaned or is this another scam?
