SSD actual write speed

I am transferring my BF3 folder from my SSD to my Raptor harddrive. Want to keep my SSD pretty much windows and all windows based programs. So I cut BF3 and pasted it to my Raptor harddrive! Write speeds are 75-80mb/sec? It's advertised sustained is at 140mb/sec! What gives...?

Do you have your SATA operation set as AHCI?

^ + an updated driver maybe. Not that it's your situation, benchmarks such as ATTO and CrysalDiskMark will have defferent results.

What model raptor are you using? For a WD1500ADFD (150GB raptor) you're looking at 70MB/s average writes speed anyway...

A Crucal RealSSD C300.

Does updating firmware do anything to the OS or programs?

I have no idea if the SSD is setup as SATA or AHCI.

Your saying the ssd write speed is 70? If you didn't use ATTO for those results, try it.

Don't think that's true. I updated the firmware on my Crucial M4 numerous times and the firmware updates didn't destroy my data.

It depends on the firmware upgrade. Some do, some don't.

Expect to lose all your data with a firmware update, mine didnt...i still reinstalled the OS anyway since i was doing a hardware change.
