SSD Caching? - Explain Please

Hey guys, I'm looking into buying a motherboard (The one in my sig). I'm 90% sure that I'm getting a Solid State Drive when I buy all the parts or in the near future. I was told that if I was going to get a SSD I should go ahead and buy a Z68 motherboard predominantly because of "SSD Caching". I Googled it but I really didn't understand what articles were saying. Can anyone explain to me in layman's terms what SSD Caching is and whether it's worth it.

EDIT: Also I was wondering if you could possibly suggest a motherboard that has a 1155 socket as well as UEFI/EFI BIOS that isn't a z68? As it seems in general z68 motherboards tend to be more expensive (from what I've seen at least).

SSD caching means that the SSD becomes like RAM for the HDD. Everything you use often or load with windows will be cached onto the SSD.

I'd prefer using the SSD as a boot/apps drive though. I really don't see the benefit of SSD caching... you already have an SSD if you plan to cache it, why not just use it normally...

main reason is it gives you the advantage of being able to use a hdd to store everything, and get the benefit of the ssd's speed, whereas you would have to spend alot more to store frequently used programs on the SSD alone... espically if you have alot of games you play

Thanks to both of you, I really appreciate your replies. From FuryRosewood's video it appears as though it's pretty useful. I'm still kind of torn though. It seems worth it but the problem is that most of the programs I use on a daily basis aren't exactly the most intensive/complex program. For example, I use Steam, Google Chrome, Utorrent, and my anti virus on a daily basis.(besides booting) They all open in less than a second so why would I take up space on my precious SSD for programs that already are snappy. I use Photoshop and Flash maybe 2-3 times a week and compared to Chrome, they use a lot more resources. So why wouldn't I manually allocate the SSD to larger more intensive programs instead of programs that already are extremely fast to open. Using a SSD on a program that opens in less than a second seems like a waste of space to me. And as it seems I can't decide which programs to cache... I'm just not too sure.

Does anyone have any personal experience with using SSD caching? Also, one quick question. This may sound really stupid, but by using SSD caching does it make my SSD kind of like a zombie drive that can pretty much only be used for caching? Because I could manually install Flash, Photoshop ect. on the SSD as well as use the extra space for caching programs that I use on a daily basis regardless of how light on my system they may be.
