SSD really slow on startup

it shows set in port 3 in mb but i know its in port 1 because i just changed it to that before i powered it on

I can't say for sure what to do about that.

If it originally worked well in port 3, then perhaps it should stay there....
And it's in ACHI mode now in the bios and the driver is enabled and working.
Maybe clear the CMOS?
Perhaps someone will come along with better input, and try the manuf's site for any related info.

yea its in ACHI mode now and everything is correct now but still just doesnt seem to be working the way it used to. Im debating on just reinstallilng windows and seeing what that does.

A thought occurred while I was at work tonight. Have you run checkdisk on the drive? It may be a long shot but its not hard to run checkdisk, and I'd do it before re-installing the OS in the off chance bad "sectors" are found. I would also run it from the OS disks instead of from the drive itself.

You could also check
http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?252-Firmware-and-Other-Downloads-%28Read-Only%29
for a tool or FW update that applies to the issue.

Don't know why it would become misaligned after using the 7 installer, but it's an easy check-just to rule it out.
And kinda like said. Ideally you want to rule out that the ssd just needs a "fix", before erasing it. Altho you may not have any programs starting from the hdd on boot-up, if you have os files/folders that you've move to hdd, perhaps its that - the hdd. So you could checkdisk that too.
