standby problem with MS Fingerprint Reader

I installed my MS Fingerprint Reader Keyboard about two months back. Ever since my computer does not go into standby properly. It wasn't until recently that I realized it was the keyboard.

The Problem: When I tell my comp to go on standby, it will work but the computer isn't fully turned off. I think the fan still runs cause I can hear my comp (its supposed to be silent). If i unlpug my keyboard and put the comp into standby, it will work properly.

Any ideas? Thx

It sounds like the system is registering something on the keyboard, have you cleaned out the finger print reader etc?
 
That is the bad thing about keyboard add-ons. I am going out on a limb on this one(lol), but I am gonna guess it is USB. There is a way in BIOS to tell your PC to ignore USB device when in standby, I don't know what option it is under. There is something like in there, I can tell you that much.
