Standing Desk

I'm redoing my home office and I would like to have a sitting desk and standing desk area. Instead of buying one of those motorized standing desks, my thought was to buy a second monitor to hook up to my desktop and switch between the two when I want to stand or sit. I've never used a second monitor before, is there any reason this would be a bad idea?

not at all. you can even hook up a separate keyboard and mouse and everything. never liked the idea of a standing desk. what do you like to stand for? just curious

Thanks, it seemed so straight forward I thought I was missing something. The standing desk is just for health reasons, to spend less time sitting.
