StarCraft

Great game, except that the different races were not so well balanced...I remember it was much easy to win if you had the Zergs...

I would beg to differ. The reason why this game has been so widely successful for so long is that the different races were quite different while remaining quite balanced. It's the first and only RTS that I've ever played that went beyond just giving the same units different skins, and maybe an extra bonus "unique" unit. While it is true that it is probably easiest to win with the zerg, that is only because you can "rush" with them. However, if you use the correct tactics, the terrans can easily fend that off, and the protoss, for that matter. A dozen zealots can hold off a horde of zerglings, even a few dozen hydralisks. So, to make it short, with some knowledge and experience, this game is easily one of the most balanced, tactical and replayable games probably ever created.

That is a really good analysis.

I was always better with Protoss and never liked zerg. The creators of Starcraft really spent a lot of time figuring out how to balance out each race. Zerg were fast to create units yet not has strong and protoss took longer to make but were stronger. It made for a unique game every time you played.

there is actually a whole story behind it. like "god" created a perfect race (protoss) them when they became to powerful he had to create a counter race. (zerg). and all that snazzy stuff. the reason i like SC so much is if you lose the CD go to wally world part 15 bux get a new SC CD a new ex[pansion CD and guides for both. lol its by far the best RTS ever.

but ya for me myself im a protoss man...i can own any zerg owner out there (hintz my name is Zergkilla[j.k]. i am descent at terran. and i suk at zerg.

I love Terrans, the siege tanks are just super awesome cool (squishy squishy zergling bug :D) I'm pretty decent with the Protoss (used to be my fav), and I not very good with the Zerg, just can't bring myself to use the tactics that you have to in order to use them properly.

Umm..., are you talking about the Scourge? If so, then yes, they can be annoying if you don't have your expensive flying units properly protected...

Oooooh, yeah those things... That's why you keep a few Wraiths handy, or some Scouts if you're the protoss, they'll rip through those mighty fast... But yeah, I've lost quite a few missile towers to those stupid things. Now that I think about it though, the Defilers really piss me off. Queens are bad, but Defilers are worse, though you just send a Science vessel after them and irradiate them, and it's hilarious to watch it kill all of it's friends back at the base :D

no high templars are bad when some1 drops them behind you and kills all you miners at once. btw what map do you play most often? i play fastest maps.

I usually play faster maps, can't be as efficient as I'd like to be on the fastest setting... Oh, and speaking of drops, anybody ever do a Reaver drop on you, those can be devastating, not only to your miners, but to your central tech tree as well...

I absolutly love starcraft and still play it off and on starcraft is what brought me into the real world ofPC gaming.

The funny part was, this, and along with my other favorate game(Battlezone II) i bought another game to try it out, and got starcraft for free =P The game I bought ended up being crap but starcraft was awsome and definatly to my liking.

I normally get tired of it but go right abck to playng after a few months or so, We should start a starcraft tournement, see whos the best SC player =P

To the zerg rushing comment, you can easiler rush with protoss too, and as long as they are not expecting it it works 95% of the time. Make a pylon and a forge at your back rush over to there base while they are still building some barraks and build 2 pylons(So the SVC rush take take out both :) ) once they finish start building 4 or 5 cannons.

I started playing broodwar back in 2000. lol I cant put this game down ever. Its really a must have if ever play rts or an rts fans. Not to mention watching pro from korea on vod is really entertaining.
