I had a Asus computer with p4s8x-mx mobo with 2.4 Ghz. cpu, with 160Gb of hard drive and 1.5 Gb ram when I start up the computer usually startup but when I click any program or explorer ( I'm running Xp pro) it freezes for maybe 20-30 minutes or so before I can use the computer. after that I can begin to use it but once in a while it frezzes? What 's should be the problem with it?Thanks for in advance.

Check processor temp.

maybe you have a LOT of startup processes running!!
Try running MSCONFIG from the run box in start panel and see what's firing up with the OS, Things such as Adobe, quicktime, groove monitor(M$ office2007) webcam monitors,Java etc can be safely stopped from starting up with the OS. Post a list of the apps that appear in the startup tab of MSCONFIG.

I did download ccleaner and I did cleanup and the start up where I disable the startup things such as yahoo messenger, adobe and others. still the same and blue screen comes up? Looks like the wattage of my PSU is also low but can't see any rating of my PSU box. About the cpu temp. I was not able to check it but will try that . And I had also onboard graphic card do I need to have separate garphic cards. looks like I need higher wattage of my psu.
