Start-up problems

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if i could have some advice to go about this problem.

Every time i start my machine it goes through all the start-up proc's etc.. then the pop up box i get from Norton comes up, however that then becomes unclickable and everytime i click on it i just get the windows "dunk" sound. If i start up then open task manager quickly, the same thing happens again but to the task manager. Also my machine slows down alot. I have ran Norton Anti Virus and Spybot S & D and it has found nowt.

Thank-you for your time

EDIT: Also i'v had a problem for ages with CCAPP and SVChost sometimes they run at crazy like 100% and cannot be stopped.

Had a similiar problem with svchost using like 100% of my cpu. Quick fix for this would be to turn off the automatic updates that windows runs. Not sure why this would be an issue now.

To turn off, go to ctrl panel<automatic updates and turn off. Youll probably get some msg from windows telling you that your system may not be safe. Not really a problem.

Just remember to check for updates manually regularly.

Don't renew you Norton when it expires. There are many other programs that take up less memory and don't bog down your system - and they're free! AVG, Avast, and Comodo are the top three.

i agree ditch norton and get avg along with zonealarm firewall both work good together and both are free.
