Did you install any new hardware or software recently?
Check out this link and read the first reply to the question.
Also, you should try system restore (see here and here) to see if this fixes your problem.

For starters I would check inside to see if it's clogged with dust and fluff causing it to overheat. The safe mode issue may discount that, unless you always try that immediately after it has shut down (and is still too hot).

I recently put in the grapics card which i thought was the problem and have since changed to my old one but still cant seem to get in going it will let me into bios but again after a certain time it shuts down i am only getting about two minutes from when i hit the power button till it cuts power again am sure my power supply is good enough as i think its a 700w

It's probably overheating.Computer's hardware shuts down the PC automatically to prevent damage to your hardware.
Anyway...check your fans/ventilators and try to replace the CPU cooling paste.Maybe it's already wasted. Also clean ALL other dirty parts!
Some BIOSES also offer the SHUTDOWN TEMPERATURE option so you can try setting that to a higher level.Still my recommendation is to not use the hardware if the temperature is above 65 degrees celsius even thought that my BIOS offers up to 75 degrees celsius.

Cheers!

Yeah, I agree with everybody else. Pop the side of your case off and check for dust build up. When my stuff gets too bad, I take things apart and use an air compressor for some serious dust removing action

Sorted the problem my gpu cooling fan was not tight enough to my processor it was a poor fan so a put on a new one and its going good
