Starting Windows Screen distorted sometimes

Hey guys.

I have a question that has been bothering me for sometime now but doesn't appear to be affecting my system, OS, in any way.

Sometimes when I start up my desktop the Starting Windows screen starts out appearing normal, then slowly turns white except for a small, taskbar size portion at the top of the screen.

It does not happen all of the time, and I don't think it's hurting anything other than me thinking about it every time I see it happening.

I will attempt to get a photo of it, I will promise the photo will be low in quality since I cannot use a screen capture software since it happens as windows is starting.

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

Not one reply?

I've searched online, my last remaining option is to contact Microsoft and they will want a full system restore or clean install which will not happen. Either way I need to contact them to get my Windows XP professional product key.

Was Win 7 installed before SP1 and then you installed SP1 later? I've had other strange issues with an install of Win 7 before the slipstreamed SP1 release, not this issue, but updates not installing correctly and then preventing any sort of boot or repair from occurring. I've reinstalled Win 7 w/SP1 on the install and that of course fixed it. I wonder if there's a bug in one of the updates that's caused some strange behavior from subsequent updates.

I would have to guess that Win 7 was installed before SP1. I purchased this system new two weeks after Win 7 was released. Not sure when SP1 was released but I've searched the web for an answer and believe I may have to contact Microsoft regarding it even if it is not causing any major issues.

I have updates fail sometimes, one was a recent update which still showed it failed to install and was not listed later as installed even though that file is no longer there for download since it says my system is up to date.

It's just one of those odd things you cannot explain. Sorry for the late reply, warmer days = longer working hours.
