I'm not a genius in computers... if anybody can help, please do so...

I've just got all my parts in... I start up the computer, see the first screen where it prompts me to hit delete to enter setup, I do that... it then shows that it recognizes the keyboard, mouse, etc.. and then, it says "auto detecting pri-master drive. and it just sits there... it goes no further...

anybody got any ideas? I've already set the jumper cables to master on the hard drive.....

well, I called Asus and they told me that most likely it's because the bios is corrupted, they'll send me out a new one... let's see if it works...

Well, it's possible, but I hope that the person you spoke with at Asus at least went through some other possibilities first.

1. Is there anything else on that IDE channel (hopefully nothing else that's also set to master)
2. Is there any chance you could have plugged the IDE cable in backtofront? It's a very common way to cause the system to hang at that point.
