Static screen flashes upon resolution change or monitor power back on

Some months ago i changed my old pc for a new one. I had to use my old monitor because I couldn't afford a new one at the moment. Said monitor has VGA plug while the new motherboard has DVI, so i had to buy an adapter for it. After completing the instalation and checking that everything was alright i decided to boot up the computer and encountered that the monitor now makes a static screen flash exactly 4 times each time the resolution is changed or when the monitor is back from sleep mode/bootup. Each flash lasts for about 2 seconds and there is a slight interval in between flashes that I can see the image of my desktop or the app running. This looks like merely an screen issue only because keyboard and mouse inputs work just fine.
I tested it with a TV via HDMI cable and there was no static flashes, and the monitor never game me this type of flashes with the old motherboard.
I am using a LG brand CRT monitor (yes i know I should just change it, and I'm in process of doing so. But in the meantime I would like to get some help of you guys to see if this problem is fixable and if it is actually worth the hassle).
Thanks in advance.

If it is of some use, I was using windows 10 and recently updated to windows 11 but the problem still persists.
