Well I got some birthday money today and decided to get Dirt 2 on Steam. I figured it would probably be a good idea to check out the demo before I get it.
Well I downloaded the demo and everything went fine. I clicked play once it was finished and it asked me to install some Ripple Audio program that is some kind of gaming audio program. Not sure. Anyway it installed that and then installed a 2004 C++ Re-distributable or something along those lines. It finished and then it just sat there. After a few minutes I clicked play again and it asked me to install the Ripple Audio program again so I did. Did the same thing, then I clicked on play again. This time it said "Preparing to launch Dirt 2 Demo" for about half a second. Then it takes me to the Steam page of Dirt 2.
I have reinstalled the demo and uninstalled the Ripple Audio progam but to no success. Same issue. I'm worried that I won't be able to get Dirt 2 to run at all, Full version or Demo, so I don't want to waste 20 dollars on a dead game.
Thoughts?
