STEAM library issues..HELP

So, I havent used my steam account in years, and predictably, there are several issues I'm encountering.

I only own like 10 games, and most are significantly older now, however.. given that I paid for them, I should still be able to play them right?

I'll use Fable 3 as an example.

I installed the game and click play..it goes to a black screen with the in game cursor on screen, but that is it..
No menu, options, sound..nothing. Only thing I can do is ctrl+alt+del and bounce back to the desktop or steam GUI.

I understand now, that a few years back 'games for windows live' was turfed and this may be affecting the playability of this title? Is this true? Are there workarounds? Or am I just SOL?

Similar issues are occuring with Batman, Dirt, and Skyrim too!!!

Can anyone shed some light of why these games are now DOA?

Im guessing its windows 10 and microsoft game live thing they no longer support.

Kinda makes me think twice about paying for digital games, not a big deal as the stuff is older now, but I'd definitely never buy from microsoft or steam again

If that is the case, Steam has nothing to do with this, it's the upgrade to 10 that's causing the issue. Have you tried running the game in compatibility mode?

A lot of GFWL games have issues like that (I have that with dirt 3).

You'd really have to troubleshoot on a game by game basis if you have obvious things like drivers and direct x dependencies installed already.

That's weird because all of my steam games are working... But on 8.1. The issue is the compatibility with 10.

Dirt 3 works fine for me...

Skyrim has no other DRM outside of Steam, so you've likely got something wrong. I've got well over 100 games on Steam with Windows 10 and have yet to have a single issue, although I haven't tried even close to all of them.

Dirt 3 works fine because they rereleased it and gave everyone that had it a new "Complete" version that doesn't have GFWL.
