This build is around $1600 from DigitalStorm. I'm willing to pay a little extra for it to be professionally assembled, but I just want to compare this price to building my own. I didn't want to spend 1600, was looking to spend 1400 max btw.

No deal, they don't tell you the PSU model, or even the brand, which usually indicates that they're using a crappy model. A bad PSU will often either kill your system very quickly when it dies, or kill it slowly due to bad voltage regulation.

edit: It also looks like they've got sub-standard hard drives as well. For a mechanical drive, you pretty much want Caviar Black or Spinpoint F3, though Seagate's 7200.12's aren't far behind. I doubt that's what they've got, though.

edit2: They don't tell you what RAM you're getting either...

Do not buy. They have unbranded RAM, dodgy PSU and possibly motherboard, the 2 most important things in a computer.

Definitely build it yourself
 
You got no RAM... 6GB triple channel kit is what you need. Look at anything 1600mhz with CAS9/CAS8 timings
 


Personally I would go with the ripjaw series (I have heard allot of good expierences with it) and if you can afford it I would go with 6 but then again you can always wait till you have some more spending cash to buy 6 GB if that is the case I would go with the 4GB (2x2GB) and then maybe buy 2 more (2x2GB) as a just in case. I have read that most people dont even use 4GB of ram on the newest games and programs and such, but I kinda plan for the future.

My P4 right now will run Fallout New Vegas on medium settings with a little lag (3.0GHz) and I am running 2GB of ram ( I just got it today, and on medium setting I am happy because I can play it), so IMO that is a personal decision about how much ram. Now on the brand of ram ( or anything really on computer parts) people can help you with because that is based on personal expierence.

Games and programs are getting bigger and more complex so In my build I am going for the best I can get so in 10 years I can still play the newest games even on minimal Graphic settings.

Building a computer really has to deal with what you are going to be using it for. Like I have mentioned My P4 will play some of the newest games with little lag on medium to low settings, and I am happy with that, but I have wanted to build a computer forever so my GF went and got me some parts and I recently bought a case for it but that is the only reason that I am upgrading.

He meant if you buy the 3 sticks of ram you can run triple channel in your mobo basically you mobo has 6 ram slots, put a stick of ram in every other slot ie: the black colored slots, or the tanish off color looking slots. It will run triple channel then. where as if you put them all side by side, it will run dual channel. or if you just put one stick in it will run single channel.

So there are 6 slots. It goes, (for this example I am going to use white instead of tan) Black, White, Black, White, Black, White. The black, and white slot closest to the cpu is channel one I believe the the second pair is channel 2 and so on. So if you put 1 stick of ram in every black slot, as said above, it would run triple channel. If you put 1 or 2 sticks in the first channel and 1 or 2 in the 2nd channel it would be running dual channel. If you put 1 or 2 sticks in the first channel it would run single channel.

Don't trust newegg reviews they mean nothing.

You install the 3 RAM sticks into 3 of the slots that are the same colour (for example, the board might have 3 blue slots and 3 white slots, so you install the sticks into the white or blue ones, usually whichever colour slot is closest to the CPU)
