Stop XP Console App's from closing automaticly

I've noticed that on Windows XP, console (DOS) app's, when the program ends, the window just closes automaticly, instead of the "press enter con continue" it just closes. Is there a registry edit i can use so it doesn't close automaticly, because very often, i'm running a DOS app, and it closes so fast, i can't see what it says, and it's really annoying, because you don't know if it was an error or what.

The DOS window won't close if you Start/Run command and run the program from there.
