Storing RAM and CPU parts safely?

Hey guys, I have to RMA my MoBo, So I will need to pull out my CPU and RAM and HD's and store them somewhere until it's time to rebuild. What's the best thing to put them in to keep it safe and static free?

RAM is pretty easy to store, and are surprisingly hard to break. Just store them in static free bags. CPU on the other hand can be tricky. If you have a LGA755 CPU it's a bit easier as it doesn't have pins. Otherwise it'll be hard as you don't want to bend any of the pins. The original CPU plastic container would be the best.

RAM - I use a drawer... nothing special.

CPU - Tricky. I usually set them on their backs on a shelf... Otherwise, this really soft foam (not styrofoam or styrenefoam... way bigger holes)

Do you have the bags/boxes they came in? I would bag up the parts and put the CPU in the little plastic thing it came in.

I ended up placing the CPU carefully on it's back inside a static free bag so that the top of the bag does not touch the front of the CPU, and placed it on a shelf.

It is LGA755 chip

you also want to store them in a room with about 70% humidity, because dry areas can more easily cause electro static discharge
